affect it but the most common are – age and lifestyle. We have compiled a list of changes you
need to make in your lifestyle that is recommended by various doctors. These changes will help
you in having a healthy and normal delivery.

Improve your diet

Do you know that food and fertility are linked together? So it’s better to eat a healthy diet before
trying to conceive. Women need to increase their intake by having more fruits, vegetables,
whole grains, and calcium-rich foods such as yoghurt, cheese, and milk every day. While men
need to take zinc, vitamins C and E, and folic acid for making the healthy sperm.

Quit alcohol and smoking

Yes, cutting back on alcohol and smoking can increase your chances of getting pregnant. Every
gynaecologist suggests cutting these back. If you are pregnant then stop being around people
who smoke because passively smoking is as bad as actively smoking. There are reports that
suggest that because of passive smoking people have suffered miscarriages.

Start taking vitamins

It’s important to start taking prenatal vitamins when you are trying to conceive because of the
baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of
pregnancy. Keeping that in mind it's important that you get essential nutrients, like iron, folic
acid, and calcium from the very start.

Don’t overdo on caffeine

It is recommended by doctors to take the minimum amount of caffeine in daily life. Drinking few
cups of coffee or tea every day will increase your blood pressure and heart rate. Caffeine is
present not only in tea or coffee, it is also there in chocolate, sodas, and even certain medicines.

Join parenting classes

everything. From giving a birth to taking care of their child. We recommend you to take online
classes or join a course with us to get useful information that will help you and your child.

Sleeping Pattern of a Newborn Baby.

Sleeping pattern of a newborn baby.

What are the sleep requirements of the newborn baby?

Total Sleeping Hours Of  A Baby In A Day

How much baby needs to sleep is completely dependent on the age of the infant. A newborn baby sleeps much of time in the day but the sleep of the baby is segmented in short duration of time. With the increase in the age of the baby, the length of day sleep decreases but the duration of nighttime sleep increases.

The newborn baby tends to sleep about 8 to 9 hours in a daytime and 8 hours at night. Generally, babies don’t sleep more than 2 hours straight. Baby learns to sleep 6 hours straight at night at the age of about 3 months and up to 6 months baby start sleeping at night for about 8 hours straight. The baby also starts to differentiate into day and night at the age of about 6 months. Look at the change in the sleeping pattern of your baby. If your baby is suddenly awake or crying this may be a sign of ear infection or any other problem. Do speak to your doctor about it.

Keeping the milk bottle to the mouth of a baby while being on the bed is a bad practice. This may lead to choking or internal infection in the baby such as ear infection.

What are the different Sleeping cycles of an infant?

Infants have different sleeping cycles than adults. They have different stages and depth of sleep. The body movement of the baby depends upon the stage of their sleep. He or she may be actively moving or stay very still.

In total hours of sleep, baby spends less time in REM (random eye movement ) while adult do it more.

Non-REM sleep baby may be in any of these 4 stages:

o Stage 1: baby may feel drowsiness, dozing eyes droop, may open and close eyes.Overall baby is preparing himself or herself to sleep or feeling sleepy.

o Stage 2: stage 2 of the Non REM sleep is light sleep. Baby may be awake or stimulate with the sudden sound.

o Stage 3: in this stage baby is in deep sleep, he or she becomes quiet.

o Stage 4: in this stage infant is in very deep sleep, quiet and does not move at all.

A newborn baby enters stage 1 of the Non REM cycle first at the beginning of the sleep cycle, then  moves into stage 2, followed by 3, then 4, then again back to 3, then 2, then to REM. This  cycle may run several times during sleep. There are chances that baby may be awakened from going stage 4 to stage 3 and have difficulty to go back to sleep in first 3 months from their birth.

Here parent helps them to fall asleep again.

  2. Active alert phase – in this phase baby moves actively and attentive to sound and sights.
  3. Crying alert phase – in this state baby becomes upset cry a lot and sometimes reject the feeding as well.

Classical symptoms of pregnancy: early pregnancy signs

Early Pregnancy Signs

There is a wide range of variety in early pregnancy signs in women. For some women, these signs appear in 1st week of conception while for others it may take a whole trimester. Pre-menstruation symptoms can also be misunderstood by the pregnancy symptoms.

In this article you will learn about:

• Implantation bleeding prior to menstruation
• Missed menstruation period
• Raised in Temperature
• Fatigue in body
• Change in the Heart rate
• Changes in Breast
• Moodiness
• Frequent urge to urinate
• Morning sickness or nausea
• Enhancement in Smell sensitivity
• Heartburn or acidity
• Change in skin colour.

Implantation bleeding prior to menstruation

It takes 4 weeks for a blastocyst (cell mass created by fertilized eggs) to implant in the endometrium (it is the lining uterus). This joining causes the mild bleeding which is usually around the time of menstruation and called implantation bleeding. Later on, this blastocyst develops into baby’s organs and complete body part.

Implantation bleeding is different from normal regular period bleeding by following ways:

i. Colour- the colour of blood varied from light pink to brown.
ii. Bleeding – the bleeding is generally seen as spotting.
iii. Pain – pain is mild no crumps will be observed generally, but in
some cases, severe pain is been observed.
iv. Duration: it only lasts for 3 to 4 days.

Missed menstruation period

This is very prominent sign that you are pregnant. You will miss your menstruation period 4 weeks after the conception. Once implantation is been performed your body will start releasing pregnancy hormone which is hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). This hormone is responsible for maintaining your pregnancy and it also makes sure you don’t get on your period for next 9 months.

Raised in Temperature

At the time of early pregnancy, your basal body temperature will be high. You will need to drink plenty of water at this time to keep your body healthy. It is also recommended that do exercise causally only.

Fatigue during early pregnancy

Blame the progesterone hormone for it. It is the very common symptom of early pregnancy. You will feel sleepy all the time. It is recommended to get enough sleep and keep your room cool as your body temperature is already high.

Change in Heart Rate

Around 56 days to 72 days your heart rate will be high and it will begin to pump blood harder and faster. It is very common in pregnancy but if you are underlying some heart problem do inform your doctor. Your expert will come up with some medicines which help you to survive.

Changes in the breast

Pregnancy brings changes to the breast of the mother. Your breast becomes swollen and tender. It is likely to happen that colour of your breast may also change. All this happens due to the hormonal changes in the body. The areola may become darker and grow larger to serve the baby at best.

Moodiness

In pregnancy, you become more emotional or reactive. This change in mood is the result of increasing level of estrogen and
progesterone. Pregnant women feel anxiety, depression, irritability (trust me it’s very easy to irritate pregnant women). Once she is laughing and in the next moment, you may find her crying. Mood swing is very common phenomena of pregnancy.

Frequent Urge to Urinate

During the pregnancy, the heart rate is increased which result in more blood flow to the body. This high flow of blood causes the kidney to process (or filter) more fluid than usual, which causes more fluid to be filled in your bladder. This is the principal reason which is responsible for your frequent visit to the bathroom.

Morning Sickness or Nausea

Nausea is very common in pregnancy. It is the result of the change in concentration of the hormone called estrogen. Increase in estrogen hormone causes the nausea sensation. Nausea can occur anytime in day or night. To keep yourself healthy drink plenty of water.

Enhancement of Smell Sensitivity

Yes, you will discover the supernatural power of smell. Many pregnant women had reported that their sensitivity towards the smell had increase magically in the first trimester. There is no scientific evidence supporting this statement. This is the reason to be believed to trigger nausea in pregnant women.

Heartburn during early pregnancy

Pregnancy hormones result in the valve between the oesophagus and stomach to relax which leads to the leakage of stomach acid and causes heartburn. In order to avoid this situation eat several small meals in a day and drink plenty of water.

Skin Changes during the Pregnancy

You may often hear the term pregnancy glow. Increased blood pressure push more blood to the skin which results in the skin glow and gives you glossy appearance, but it also causes oil glands to do over time which may result in acne problem.
